Happy July 4th!
Last day before I depart! Also, conveniently, Josh & Kathryn's annual daylong party on the river. It was nice to take an entire day and do nothing but hang out. (Check out the July 4th pics here.) Despite a midday sprinkle -- definitely NOT the tornado as promised -- and the fact that the holiday fell on a Wednesday, it was a great day with a good turnout. July 4th Moment of Zen: Josh, Kathryn, Bryce, Frances, two Park Rangers, and I, helping Mark back up across two lanes of GW Parkway traffic to squeeze into a parking space. Nice work, team!
Of course I'm nervous about tomorrow's departure, but at this point all my prep work has been done, and all I have to do is get on a plane! Well, and try to get a bit of sleep...
